Prisoners from HMP Leyhill prepare for sale of their work

Animal quilt made by Leyhill prisoner

Fine Cell Work is a social enterprise that trains prisoners in paid, skilled, creative needlework undertaken in the long hours spent in their cells to foster hope, discipline and self-esteem.

HM Prison Leyhill is an open prison situated in the parish of Tortworth in Gloucestershire and is one of the prisons where FCW volunteers run classes in embroidery and quilting.

The prisoners are paid for their work, which is then sold around the world. On October 3rd there will be an opportunity to buy work made by the prisoners from Leyhill at a sale of work in North Woodchester near Stroud.
