Gloucestershire quilter wins first prize at Festival of Quilts

Joy's winning quilt

Joy Salvage from Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire has won first prize in the Quilters Guild Challenge at the world famous Festival of Quilts 2015 held every year at the NEC Birmingham.  Joy's initial inspiration was the Cabin Fever - Log Cabin exhibition held in the Quilt Museum York between January and May 2014.  Comprising 40,000 pieces in the 3,800 miniature log cabin blocks it certainly met the criteria of the challenge "a passion for piecing".  The quilt will now go on tour and be returned to Joy, who is a member of Under the Edge Quilters, in December
